This summer (2024) I had the opportunity to intern at Nike, Inc.'s world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, for ten weeks. Below are a few of the events I went to, volunteer work that I did, speakers I listened to live, and travel that I did during the internship. I am unable to include the body of work that I completed for Nike due to my signed Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Presentations
During my summer internship, I had the privilege of developing a new business idea for Nike, Inc. unrelated to footwear and apparel, and got to present it to judges in "Combine Capstone Competition", a little over halfway through the internship.
Speakers
We had the opportunity to learn from speakers who have come far in their journey with sport, such as Howard White, official signer and creator of the Jordan Brand partnership with Michael Jordan.
Volunteer Work
I volunteered for a few community service events while at Nike, Inc. - one of which being a community sport day, where children and preteens in the surrounding neighborhoods around Nike's campus could come play sports for the day, compete, win prizes and snacks, and have fun.
Running
These are a few of the road running races I competed in over the course of my summer internship in Beaverton, Oregon.
Bowerman 5k road race: This was when I placed 15th out of 52 women in my age group, with a multi-minute PR in the 5k on Nike, Inc.'s campus in Beaverton, Oregon.
Foot Traffic Flat Quarter Marathon Road Race: This was when I placed third in my age group of women ages 20-29 in Portland, Oregon.
This was also taken after I completed the Bowerman 5k Road Race.
